I truly enjoy my work and I take pride in creating sustainable long-term value for our clients’ investments. A big part of my job involves working with the advisers to structure and create portfolios for their clients. It’s extremely rewarding to see how well these work out for our clients, and to see them happy and satisfied knowing that they are on track to achieve their life and financial goals.
The one thing I appreciate the most is the amazing culture we have at Eight. Everyone is friendly and approachable, and always ready to help. We have a diverse team, and I appreciate the open exchange of ideas and opinions and always being able to learn something new.
It’s a fine balance for a workplace to be both fun yet productive and efficient at the same time, but Eight perfectly encapsulates this. We work hard, but we also don’t forget to enjoy and reward ourselves!
With COVID restrictions easing, we can all finally travel again. I find myself most recharged when I’m able to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I try to have at least one weekend trip each month – be it surfing in Bali, golf in Bintan or a road trip to Malaysia. These short getaways are massively rejuvenating and help to reset my mind and focus, keeping my spirits and energy levels up.
I spent 2 years in the St. James’s Place Rotational Graduate Program, where I had the opportunity to work across various departments, including Investments, Operations and Marketing. This enabled me to build a solid and holistic understanding of our business. At the end of it, I discovered that my interests lie in Investments, specifically in the client-facing side of the business – that’s why I joined Eight Wealth International as Investment Counsellor, and I’ve never looked back since.
It’s okay to take things slow; take a step back, evaluate what is important, and enjoy life. Life is a journey, not a race, and there is so much to enjoy!
